A Next-Generation RTU Is Here — Introducing eRTU

Elseta is proud to unveil its newest innovation in grid automation: eRTU, a next-generation remote terminal unit designed to bring advanced control, measurement, and automation capabilities to modern power distribution networks.

As utilities and system integrators face growing demands for reliability, real-time monitoring, and responsive automation at the edge, the eRTU delivers a powerful new platform built from the ground up for today’s smart grid challenges.

At the heart of the eRTU is a modular architecture combining a high-performance Communications & Measurement Unit (CMU) with expandable bay control modules (BCM1P). This enables secure remote control, high-precision data acquisition, and self-healing network logic in one compact, rugged design — ideal for feeder automation, secondary substation control, and RMU-based schemes.

The eRTU offers a suite of advanced features, including:

  • Comprehensive fault management with bidirectional detection and automatic isolation, enabling faster restoration and enhanced grid resilience.
